Flash Fiction - The Pharaoh's Deliberation

This text makes part of a collection of very short stories whose objective is to keep my English fluency alive. (Pharaoh, Pupil and Ancestor)

***
It was a regular day in Egypt.

A man called to Pharaoh's attention the following fact: the plantation and harvest were not occurring as expected.

The Pharaoh then remained in silence waiting for the end of the man's words.

That fact followed his thoughts to bed and took from him the free will to sleep.

He was inquiring himself: What am I doing wrong for the Gods do not bless us with an abundant harvest?

***

The moon gave room for quite fabulous sunlight.

Another man came to Pharaoh's presence. This one was not a regular man. He was a scribe. This particular scribe had the dutty to write the Book of The Dead of Pharao's life. The book that will be used for Osiris himself to judge his spirit, in order to decide whether Pharaoh deserves to enter into Paradise or not.

Pharaoh felt sick when the man asked him about the goods that he has been doing to write it down to the book. He feels that he needs to do something to have an abundant harvest. Only this way he would feel worthy to pass through Osiris's test.

With the excuse that he was not feeling well, Pharaoh ordered the scribe to leave him alone. After some minutes Pharaoh asked for one servent a cup of mandrake tea. He needed to sleep.

While Pharaoh was sipping his tea, his pupils were getting dilated and his eyelids havier... He was finally ready to let himself go to the land of dreams.

Then Pharaoh listens to a man calling his name. There was fog everywhere. He couldn't see the man's face but he recognized the voice. That voice belonged to his grandfather. His ancestor.

That voice told him that Osiris was not satisfied with his administration and because of that, the whole Egipt was suffering from a poor harvest. That voice told also that Pharaoh must find a way to compensate Osiris for all the blessings and teaching that he gave to the men.

When Pharaoh woke up from his sleep time, he saw a soft fog in the air.

The Pharaoh then starts to deliberate about what he should do with the information that he just received from his Grandfather.

And another morning has stared ...

***

Pharaoh called the servants and initiate the following speech:

Osiris is not satisfied with us. That's why our plantation and harvest are suffering. My orders are: bring to me, in three days, your best-tamed animal for the great sacrifice in name of Osiris.

The servents did what was asked for then. The ritual of sacrifice has started.

The Pharaoh was sit in your throne watching the ritual with a cup of mandrake tea slowly sipping it. A fog came to him and from inside of it that voice said: Well done Grandson.

The End.
